FAMILY ARTISANS

Mabel Scheiner
Flora, Mabel, & Ethel

Flora, Mabel, & Ethel

This painting was inspired by an old family photograph
 taken sometime before 1920.
Mabel is my maternal Grandmother,
and Flora and Ethel, her best friends.
Flora, and Ethel were soon to become Mabel's sisters in law.
At the time this photo was taken,
I don't think Mabel had met Her tall handsome husband to be,
my grandpa, James Scheiner.

Lindsay Girl

Lindsay is our one and only daughter.
I painted this for her 21st birthday.
My inspiration came from a photo taken
by her friend when she was 16.
I loved the way he captured her joy in the moment,
and I hope I captured her beauty,
 and youthful hopes and dreams.

Original painted in watercolor 16"x 20"

Mary Alvey
Aubbey

Aubbey

Mary Alvey, aka Aubbey, is my husband Michael's maternal grandmother.
Aubbey was much loved and respected.
With hard work and ingenuity she raised her children through the Great Depression.
She imparted wonderful attributes such as strength,
dignity, integrity, love, and beauty to the generations to follow.

Original, pencil, graphite and white chalk, on blue drawing paper.

DANIEL

This is our first born Daniel.
I drew this for his 27th birthday.
Anyone who knows Daniel
knows that he has been gifted with a keen intellect.
But as a mom, I am most pleased
with his concern and true affection
 for those he loves.
I captured this, while he held
his newborn nephew Ehren.
This is a pen and ink drawing
on 16"X 20" blue drawing paper,
 with washes of blue water
color.

Catching the Wind

This is a portrait of the man my Mom fell in love with,
my Dad, George Lindsay. The inspiration for this drawing came from a photo she took while sailing together on their honeymoon. He loved to sail all through his life.
