My inspiration for this painting came from the first blooms of my Betty Prior Roses in my garden. They put on an exquisite show of deep rich color every summer accompanied by their lovely aroma. As I was painting Unfolding Rose, I was reminded of God's great love for us, unfolding in our hearts and minds over time, something new everyday.

Sunflower Joy
Sunflower Joy
Psalm 65:12-13
The grasslands of the desert overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness.
The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing. The word joy in scripture is often proceeded with the verb shout. As summer starts to leave our valley, sunflowers suddenly pop up all over the landscape, reminding me of the above scripture as they seem to shout for joy and sing praise to God. Apricots for Owen
APRICOTS for OWEN
The inspiration for this painting came from an unusual bounty of apricots from a tree in my backyard. I began this painting the day our first grandson Owen was born.
